At the Drive-In Announce New Music, World Tour

ATDI tour and new music

The furore among fans reached fever pitch after At The Drive-In unveiled the absolute vaguest of teases earlier this week through a 15 second snippet of seemingly new audio and today’s date alone. It was a quick open and close of the trench coat before they disappeared once more into the bushes/radio silence they’ve been occupying ever since their 2012 reunion tour culminated in their last ever gig at London’s Brixton Academy.

Speculation was rife of course, what with those confirmed live dates circulating and co-founder and guitarist Jim Ward’s apparent confusion and unawareness of such things, and speculation has been met with everything fans could’ve hoped for. Today is today’s date and At The Drive-In have just unveiled a new banner for their website announcing a world tour and new music.

At the Drive In tour

The tour was kind of a given, though never wholly certain, but that new music reveal. Oh, shit. Oh, shitty shitty shit. That’s kind of a big deal. It’ll be the band’s first wholly new material since 2000’s seminal Relationship of Command. On top of that, given some of the dissatisfaction in the band’s ranks (I’m looking at you, Omar) from playing only old material that they could no longer really relate to, this new material is going to be a shot of adrenaline into an already crazy kinetic band.

Essentially, these live dates are going to off with these post-hardcore legends returning with a new fire in their belly. Check out the full list of dates below, and sit by your phones and your computers as you wait for tickets to go on sale tomorrow!

But seriously, new At The Drive-In. I mean, come on. 2016, you’re alright.
