After what can only be described as a disastrous open beta period for Dragon Ball FighterZ, Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced that there will be a second round of open beta testing, with a view on testing the matchmaking system, server capacity and eliminating the connection issues that blighted the previous beta.

The new beta will start on January 17th at 9pm PST, which translates to 5am GMT on January 18th, and will run for a full 24 hours. Should give all of you a good chance to practice your moves, as this new beta will include the same characters as the previous one. That’s if you can find a match anyway.

We tried playing the open beta this weekend, but only managed to play 5 games in about 2 hours. There was plenty of running around the lobby as a chibi Vegeta, not a lot of actually cracking skulls online. When we were playing, everything was great, even if we were getting stomped most of the time. Here’s hoping these connection issues get ironed before the full game launches.

If you think that Xbox Game Pass sounds like a Payne, maybe you’d like to check out our retrospective on the Max Payne series. Yes, I’m aware of how much of a stretch that segue is.
