December 2018’s PlayStation Plus Games Available Today

Onrush and Soma are both available today as part of the PlayStation Plus games for December 2018.

The selection this month may not appeal to everyone who was hoping for a big goodbye for the year, but the PlayStation Plus games for December 2018 still offer plenty to offer. And, even in the midst of new games like Just Cause 4 and Subnautica, they are out today.

The headliner (just through virtue of being not even a year old) is Onrush: a sadly unloved multiplayer not-racer that may tickle the pickle of anyone who like Motorstorm and/or Burnout. It’s not perfect, but for some disposable fun it’s hard to beat.

Onrush

Next up, Soma is a masterful slice of suspenseful sci-fi from the minds over at Frictional Games. While it may not have quite the same heart-stopping power as Amnesia, it’s arguably much richer thematically. A big ol’ coward? You can turn on passive mode and just explore its sunken worlds instead.

The full list, including an underrated indie from 2018 as well as generally one of the best games ever made, is below:

SOMA – PS4
Onrush – PS4
Steredenn – PS3
Steins;Gate – PS3
Iconoclasts – Vita, PS4
Papers, Please – Vita

Remember: you need to be an active PlayStation Plus member to download and play these games. It’s always worth bearing in mind that the games are almost never available from midnight; closer to midday. Check your regional PlayStation Store at noon on the 4th, though the games are typically easier to find from the special PS Plus section in the PS4 dashboard.
