Kojima Productions have announced that the PC release of Death Stranding, originally scheduled to launch in June, has now been pushed back to July 14th. The reason, as you probably have guessed by now, is COVID-19 related. Check out the tweet from Kojima Productions below.
Following the temporary closure of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS, we have had to delay the PC launch of DEATH STRANDING to July 14, 2020, to allow more development time amidst the current work-from-home orders in place. As the Kojima Productions staff have been ordered to work from home due to current lockdown restrictions, the team have made the decision to delay Death Stranding’s PC release by a month to allow for more development time. Better to release more polished product later than to release the game in a half-baked state earlier.
Death Stranding’s PC port is the latest in a long line of games to be delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and it’s likely that it won’t be the last either. When the game launches, it’ll include features like photo mode, and a promotion with Half-Life where you can run around while wearing a headcrab, because sure. Why not?
