Company of Heroes 3 is the latest RTS in Relic’s now legendary series, with it bringing a few new ideas to the table. One thing remains the same, though: the level of challenge. Sometimes you’ve already lost a battle and you don’t even know it for some time, so is there a way to change difficulty once you’ve started a campaign?
Unfortunately, there is now way of changing difficulty in the middle of a campaign, and you must stick with what you originally selected. The difficulty options in Company of Heroes 3 are as follows:
– Standard
– Tough
– Veteran
– Fearless
The higher the difficulty, the more aggressive and proactive the AI tends to be in the sense that they won’t always wait for you to come to them and will try to push you back from the off. This will also make them more reactive to your moves. If you’re just starting off with Company of Heroes in general, it’s strongly recommended that you stick to Standard while you find your bearings and get used to mechanics.
Bear in mind that you cannot change the difficulty at all before you take part in a Co-Op vs AI match and it is always set to Tough.
