Cody Rhodes made his triumphant return to WWE at WrestleMania 38 to face-down Seth Rollins as his mystery opponent. The match was awesome and made Cody look like all sorts of major superstar, setting him up for a huge run towards the WWE Unified Championship in 2022. Now that Cody has had a chance to settle in and various reporters have done some digging into his contract details, Rhodes has confirmed how exactly WWE convinced him to jump ship from the company he started.

Rhodes explained that his new contract is ‘very detailed and complex’, starting with his full-time status that will span over multiple years. Cody stated that he wanted to get back to what he used to do, being on the road with the company and competing everywhere and anywhere he can. Though this would usually be quite an exhausting work-life, he has been granted a semblance of home in the form of his new ‘Nightmare Express’.

Cody was provided with a travelling bus so that he and his family can spend time together while on the road. Rhodes will also be allowed to continue filing the ‘Go Big Show’ on TBS, which has been renewed for a second and third season. The former AEW star acts as a judge for the show, which was originally heavily partnered with All Elite Wrestling, although one can imagine that this may now be a little more subtle following his move to WWE.

The Cody-Brandi themed reality show however has been cancelled for the foreseeable future, but knowing how much WWE love to push their stars as reality TV sensations, it wouldn’t shock me if WWE work their magic to make this a thing again.

‘The American Nightmare’ is set to appear on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, where he will likely continue his pursue of Roman Reigns’ title.
