According to some leaks and dataminers, this year’s version of Call of Duty seems to exist in some form on PSN, as the game’s alpha has been discovered on the PSN database. The listing has appeared on PS4 Database under the name The Red Door, which doesn’t sound like a CoD game, but the Content ID is the big indicator: “EP0002-CUSA20074_00-COD2020INTALPHA1”.

The database listing reveals that the game will be set for the highest age rating, and will naturally support the PS4 Pro, which admittedly isn’t a lot of information, but the website Modern Warzone has shared some details regarding the alpha’s code. The dataminer has found reference to five different modes in the game, which include a campaign, the return of zombies, multiplayer, Warzone and a mode referred to as WZZM. Warzone and Zombies are referred to as WZ and ZM in the code, so it’s possible this fifth mode is Warzone Zombies.

It’s already been confirmed that Warzone will run alongside future Call of Duty games, so it’s not unreasonable to expect that Treyarch would want to add their own twist to the formula. If Treyarch are known for anything Call of Duty related, it’s Zombies. CoD 2020 has already been leaked, with many reporting that the game will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which is a bit of a mouthful. Fingers crossed we’ll hear something official about the latest Call of Duty soon, perhaps as part of the recently rescheduled PS5 event.
