New Reports Suggest Next Call Of Duty Set During Cold War

Bring a winter coat.

Black Ops

A host of new reports have emerged today corroborating the idea that the next Call of Duty game will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which as the name would imply, is set during the Cold War. The report comes initially from noted leaker @Okami13_, with the professionally made image edit provided below.

The leak was then corroborated by Eurogamer with their own sources, stating that the title is “on the money” and that it’ll be developed by Treyarch. The Black Ops series began in historical settings, covering the Vietnam War, the Bay of Pigs invasion and so on, so a Cold War entry would offer a similar return to the series roots that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare offered last year.

Eurogamer has also noted that Warzone is currently teasing the next game’s Cold War setting, with the opening bunkers set to contain Cold War era spyplanes and more hints at Black Ops Cold War. Activision reportedly refused to comment when contacted, but hopefully we’ll here more about Black Ops Cold War in the near future.
