Sony have announced that the rescheduled date for their PS5 event will be June 11th. Originally set for last Thursday, June 4th, the event was delayed indefinitely amidst the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests. Many event organisers postponed their plans in order to give the protests a platform to be heard.

The event will take place on June 11th at 1pm PDT / 9pm BST, and will run for a little bit over an hour, featuring a host of news about upcoming PS5 games. Said games will come from “studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established”.
The updated blog post, which is tied to the above tweet, also contains some new information regarding the event itself. Due to the effects of COVID-19 and working from home, Sony have stated that the event will run at 1080p and 30 frames per second, as this has eased the production process for the team. Also, it’ll apparently be best to watch the show with headphones, as there’s some “cool audio work in the show”. Sounds intriguing, and we’ll see what that entails for ourselves this Thursday.
