Biggest New Games Of November 2019: Jedi: Fallen Order, Death Stranding & More

2019 is closing with a bang.

We’re nearing the end of 2019, and does anyone else feel like this entire year has zoomed past in the blink of an eye? Seriously, it feels like just a minute ago when Anthem launched and the world laughed, but there’s been a host of potential Game of the Year candidates in the 10 months since the year began.

We could run through all the brilliant games that have emerged this year, but we have a separate list for that. Instead, we’ll point you in the direction of all the biggest releases of November 2019 that you should keep your eye on, if you’re not too busy playing The Outer Worlds, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or any other game you still need to catch up on.

1. Planet Zoo – November 5th

Planet Zoo

Developer: Frontier Developments
Publisher: Frontier Developments
Platform(s): PC

A successor to the likes of Zoo Tycoon, Planet Zoo pits you as the head of a new zoo as you manage the animals, habitats and visitors in order to create the perfect zoo for animals and customers alike. With Planet Zoo being created by Frontier Developments, who have made a name for themselves with top tier management simulations, Planet Zoo might just fill that Tycoon shaped hole in your heart.

2. Mario And Sonic At The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 – November 5th

Mario and Sonic

Developer: SEGA Sports R&D
Publisher: SEGA
Platform(s): Nintendo Switch

The Mario and Sonic At The Olympic Games series has become an institution unto itself at this point, and the Tokyo 2020 edition looks to be no exception. With the usual assortment of events covered, the 2020 version also includes a fully fledged Story Mode, a retro throwback mode with additional 2D events, and a Dream Events mode, which features fantastical versions of some Olympic events. It might not make you an athlete, but it should be a lot of fun.

3. Death Stranding – November 8th

Death Stranding

Developer: Kojima Productions
Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
Platform(s): PS4 (PC release next year)

Hideo Kojima’s big, weird paranormal adventure might just be one of the oddest games ever made, but there’s a ton of potential for it to be a game-changing event within the industry. That, or it’s going to be too out there for its own good. Either one really, it doesn’t look like there’ll be any middle ground when it comes to Death Stranding, but we’re certainly intrigued to see how it’ll work out when it launches in November.

4. Need For Speed Heat – November 8th

NFS Heat

Developer: Ghost Games
Publisher: EA
Platform(s): PC, PS4, Xbox One

The Need For Speed series hasn’t quite captured the same magic of older entries in the series, but Heat might just be a return to form, as it’s set to offer a mix between sanctioned racing and illegal street racing, along with a renewed emphasis on car customisation. At the very least, you won’t have to unlock performance upgrades via random Speedcards like in Payback, so Heat can only be an improvement.

5. Bee Simulator – November 14th

Developer: Varsav
Publisher: Bigben Interactive
Platform(s): PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch

Who needs Bus Simulator or Train Simulator when you can play Bee Simulator? As a small bee, you can explore a semi-open world that was inspired by New York’s Central Park, as you try to save your hive from a host of perils. With co-op and PvP support via local splitscreen, Bee Simulator could definitely cause some buzz.

Oh, come on. That can’t be worse than any of the jokes in Bee Movie.

6. Pokémon Sword and Shield – November 15th

Pokémon Sword and Shield

Developer: Game Freak
Publisher: The Pokémon Company, Nintendo
Platform(s): Nintendo Switch

The next instalment of Game Freak’s “Catching ‘Em All” simulator is finally making its way to the Nintendo Switch in the form of Pokémon Sword and Shield, bringing to the series a brand new location in the form of the Galar Region. Sword and Shield will include brand new Pokémon, new evolutions of already existing Pokémon, a new Gigantamaxing feature that turns your Pokémon into a Kaiju that’d make Godzilla feel inferior, and much more besides. It might not have the National Dex, but it’ll still control your life for dozens of hours, guaranteed.

7. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – November 15th

Jedi Fallen Order

Developer: Respawn Entertainment
Publisher: EA
Platform(s): PC, PS4, Xbox One

The Force might just be with this one, as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order looks like it could be one of the best virtual adventures we’ve ever had in “the galaxy far, far away”. As Padawan Cal Kestis, one of the few survivors of Order 66, you have to utilise the Force powers and lightsaber skills you’ve learned to survive the Empire’s attempts to crush you, with Cal’s journey taking you to a host of returning and brand new planets.

8. Shenmue 3 – November 19th

Shenmue 3

Developer: Neilo, Ys Net
Publisher: Deep Silver
Platform(s): PC, PS4

The Dreamcast’s sailor searching simulator was a surprise hit, though many were disappointed when Shenmue’s long anticipated third game never actually materialised for over a decade. Thankfully, fans of the series don’t have long to wait before they can see Ryo Hazuki continue his journey to find his father’s killer, while a new antagonist emerges. If you haven’t played Shenmue yet, the HD versions of the first two games are available right now.

9. Google Stadia – November 19th
