EA Games Are Returning To Steam, Starting With Fallen Order

“Mind tricks don’t work on me.”

After some speculation and a very on the nose Twitter tease, EA games will now be available to purchase from Steam after EA jumped ship years ago.

Valve and EA will start off their new friendship with the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which is due out on November 15th. You can pre-order it on Steam right now.

Other EA games will follow suit with the likes of The Sims 4 and Unravel Two mentioned as being on the way.

However, EA’s multiplayer games look like they will need a bit more time before they make the crossover. Apex Legends, FIFA 20, and Battlefield V will make the jump to Steam in 2020. Cross-play between Steam and Origin will also be an option.

As well as games coming over to Steam, EA Access, the first subscription service of any kind on Steam, will be making its way to Steam in Spring 2020. EA Access was just recently made available on PS4.

EA and Valve will be sharing more news in due time.

This is a pretty interesting development, and certainly a brave one from EA. Origin is a pretty “closed off” launcher without the forms and review-bombing capabilities of Steam, so they are opening themselves up to even more criticism than they usually get. Maybe they’re trying to turn over a new leaf?
