While it’s only the first month of 2021 and it feels like there have been roughly 400 PlayStation sales since the start of the year already, the PlayStation Store’s Remasters & Retro sale in the UK is absolutely worth checking out for some great deals on PS4 and PS5 games. Well, PS4 games you can play on PS5, at least.

As the name suggests, the Remasters & Retro Sale focuses on games that are like those of yesteryear, when games were simpler and people had to write codes on paper, while also highlighting remasters and remakes of some of the industry’s classics.

If you don’t want to wade through the PlayStation Store (and who could blame you with this new UI), here are the best deals on some bonafide slices of gaming history in the Remasters & Retro sale. And also Doom 3.

PlayStation Store’s Remasters & Retro Sale’s Best Deals

Dead Cells
Dead Cells

Dead Cells, one of the best games of the last five years, is an absolute snip at £9.99, though it is currently a part of PlayStation Now. Not for much longer, mind you.

Gravity Rush Remastered at £8.24 should be a straightforward purchase for anyone who wants to see the unusual side of the PS4’s wide range of exclusives. Physical copies can retail for £50+, so if you don’t mind digital, not a bad alternative here at all.

Journey Collector’s Edition for £5.99 is an outrage considering that it also comes with Flow and Flower, two of Thatgamecompany’s earlier works. Buy it, cry through it, love it.

Grim Fandango Remastered at £2.99 is a bit of a snip when it provides a fairly straightforward Platinum and arguably the pinnacle of the point and click genre. One of Lucasarts’ least successful games at the time of release is now looked back on as one of their best.

Raccoon City Edition bundles the excellent Resident Evil 2 remake and the good-but-not-quite-as-good-as-it-could-have-been Resident Evil 3 remake for £25.99. A mad price considering Resident Evil 3 isn’t even a year old yet. A bargain if you don’t have either of these remakes yet.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled at £13.99 is quite the get, especially if you have youngsters living with you. A remake of the first CTR game with elements of older games added, this is a pretty great alternative for Mario Kart. Pity about the microtransactions.

– Another remake of a PlayStation icon, Spyro Reignited Trilogy for £13.99 will bring you picture perfect remakes of the first three Spyro games. Worth it just to speed around and headbutt everything, to be honest.

Tearaway Unfolded is a steal at £4.79, a retooling of the underrated platformer on the Vita. While it is a little gimmicky with the DualShock 4, it’s still an absolutely joyful time that just needed a mascot on the cover to make it bigger.

– While it’s always on sale and will be until the sun explodes, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for just £7.99 is a solid price for three of the best PlayStation exclusives of all time. Drake’s Fortune is a little rough these days, but 2 and 3 still have a tonne of fun to offer.

– Now for some games that aren’t necessarily amazing value compared to other sales, though are still worth checking out: Metro Redux for £4.99, Dead Rising for £4.79, Deponia for 99p, Burnout Paradise Remastered for £7.19, Streets Of Rage 4 for £13.99, Trine Bundle for £4.99, and Okami HD for £7.99

PlayStation Store’s Remasters & Retro Sale is on from now until February 10th, 2021.
