Anti-Brawler Way of the Passive Fist Out Next Month

Way of the Passive Fist

Talk about going from zero to “most wanted game” in a heartbeat. Household Games have announced that their upcoming anti-brawler Way of the Passive Fist will be launching on March 6th for PS4, Xbox One and Steam.

Though Way of the Passive Fist may look like every other side scrolling beat ’em up from the late 80s/90s, this game has one major difference: your focus is on defense rather than offense. You must use techniques like dodges and parries to wear down your opponent’s stamina, before giving them a light prod when they get tired. It’s similar to the Homer Simpson approach to boxing, just ideally without getting your head caved in.

Just one look at the trailer at the bottom of the page should give you a proper idea of the principles in actions, as you must learn attack patterns and parry accordingly. For anyone who loves playing Street Fighter III: Third Strikes or enjoy watching footage of high level play, Way of the Passive Fist should be right up your alley. Plus, if you’re struggling with certain aspects of the game, you can customise the difficulty settings to your liking, whether to be to increase the amount of checkpoints or decrease the amount of damage that enemies do.

Combine all that with some killer tunes and a fantastic art style, and Way of the Passive Fist could become a real fan favourite of the beat ’em up genre. Are you excited for this game, or, like me, is this the first you’re hearing about Way of the Passive Fist? Sound off in the comments below.
