Arika have announced that their long awaited fighting game Fighting EX Layer will be launching on PS4 on June 28th, with two separate editions that offer a more casual or dedicated experience.
The Light version will retail for $40, and will include 12 characters and 5 Gougi decks. If you don’t know, Gougi decks are selectable loadouts that’ll add certain buffs to your character if you fulfill certain criteria during a match. The Standard edition will include all that and a thirteenth character, Hokuto, along with an additional 10 Gougi decks. It’s a lot of Gougi, that’s for sure.
On the official Fighting EX Layer website which has gone live today, they’ve also released the full move lists for all 13 characters, so you can start checking out how you’d play the likes of Cracker Jack or the classic Skullomania.
As a Street Fighter EX fan, I’m really excited to get my hands on Fighting EX Layer, and that’s especially true after playing the beta a few months back. Unfortunately, the beta was also plagued with some netcode issues, as matches were often interrupted by the unwelcome presence of lag. Here’s hoping that Arika have ironed out those problems when the game launches in a few weeks.
