Idris Elba is an actor. An actor is paid to play a role. An actor that successfully portrays a character is an actor that is good at their job. Like many who took Twitter to express disgust towards Anthony Horowitz, I also find myself disconcerted by the idea that Idris Elba has been coined as ‘too street’ to play the next James Bond, presumably based on his other roles, as Horowitz denies any racially-based motives behind the statement, although many believe it to be the case.
