Does Dying Light 2 Have Manual Saves?

As an open world RPG with a heavy emphasis on making the world your own while also making some pretty touch choices, you’d expect Dying Light 2 to allow players to manually save their progress to see the other side of the coin and make some different decisions.

Unfortunately, there is no option to manually save or quicksave in Dying Light 2. There is only autosave. You cannot return to an earlier save at any point, and you have to start a whole new game if you want to play the story differently.

This is, of course, a pretty big disappointment for those who want to replay sections from a different angle or anyone who wants to experiment with something in the game’s world without any repercussions. Dying Light 2 is an absolutely gigantic game with dozens, even hundreds of hours of content, so having to start all over again and lose all your progress again while grinding all the way back up might not be all that appealing.

Still, having no manual saves does give every single decision you make much more dramatic weight, which was probably the intention. However, as we’ve seen from Techland in the past, they support their games incredibly well over years and years, so there’s every chance they could add manual saves in the future.

Elsewhere in Dying Light 2, be sure to read up on how you can claim your pre-order DLC and also where all the Inhibitors are located across the map.

Dying Light 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
