Rainbow Six Siege Apocalypse Event: Canister, Skins & What You Should Know

Max interest.

Siege Apocalypse

As has become a bit of a tradition with Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft are spicing things up with a new limited-time event for their massively popular squad shooter. Apocalypse is the latest addition to Siege, and it has some serious Mad Max vibes.

Featuring a new mode called Canister, a tonne of new cosmetics, and a somehow even grimmer version of the Outback map, Apocalypse will hope to carry on the success of the likes of Outbreak event, which is being spun off into its very own game.

Here’s everything you need to know about Apocalypse in Rainbow Six Siege for Year 6 Season 1.

When Does Apocalypse Begin and End?

Apocalypse is available from now until May 18th, 2021, meaning you just have over two weeks to collect all of the cosmetics and get to grips with the brand new mode.

What’s The Canister Game Mode About?

“In the world of Apocalypse, humanity’s dependence on nuclear energy ultimately led to the fall of civilisation and the emergence of two clans, The Keepers and The Warband. These warriors and scavengers seek the last plant on Earth, which holds the power to re-grow life on Earth.”

Canister isn’t a grand reinvention of the Siege formula like a few of its other limited time modes to date, but does seem to be at least an interesting spin on things.

In Canister, players fight as The Keepers (Defenders) or The Warband (Attackers) to claim the Earth’s last plant following an apocalyptic event.

What that means in terms of gameplay is an Overwatch-esque setup in which The Keepers can move the canister holding the plant around the map, while The Warband have to defuse the canister. Either team can also win by completely wiping out the other. It’s a lot like normal Siege, but what with a roving objective instead.

Here’s who’s on The Keepers: Maestro, Melusi, Rook, Smoke, and Valkyrie.

And with The Warband: Fuze, Gridlock, Maverick, Nomad, and Twitch.

Rainbow Six Siege Apocalypse Cosmetics

The are 35 cosmetics to collect over the course of the Apocalypse event in Siege for the likes of Fuze, Gridlock, Maverick, Nomad, Twitch, Maestro, Melusi, Rook, Smoke and Valkyrie. You can check them all out in the video above.
