You’d be forgiven for forgetting about Biomutant, the action-RPG developed by the small team of Experiment 101 and to be published by THQ Nordic. The game was last seen at Gamescom 2018 before seemingly dropping off the face of the Earth, but now it’s back. The developers appeared on IGN’s Summer of Gaming for 10 minute gameplay interview, which you can see below.
Biomutant appears to be a much bigger game than many anticipated, with plenty of character creator and class options available to you when you start the game. Players will be able to upgrade their weapons and abilities how they see fit as they progress through the game, allowing you to create your own powerful furball/nightmare Gremlin.
Unfortunately, there’s still no set release date for Biomutant, but creative director Stefan Ljungqvist states in the video above that the development team is small, with multiple team members having to take on multiple roles. The game is currently in development for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see an Xbox Series X/PS5 announcement in the near future.
