E3 2016: Watch Dogs 2 Ramps Up Chaos and Spectacle

Watch Dogs 2

So, we’re all agreed, right? Watch Dogs was fairly unremarkable, especially given all the hype. It’s kind of upsetting, given all the hype, and the fact that it was touted as a kind of new age replacement for Splinter Cell. Well, we’re getting a second one anyway. Cleverly, Ubisoft decided to show a gameplay trailer for the sequel, rather than an FMV trailer. It looks like more of the same, but building on particular focal points, namely – cinematic appeal and general ridiculousness.

It seems like they’re focusing on new ways for you to create random chaos, and making the whole thing more aloof and humorous, and hip-hop oriented, for some reason. It’s still Watch Dogs, ie  fairly bland, but it at least looks like there’s a bit more scope for fucking around, which is kind of the bedrock of open world gaming, so you never know. It comes out next November.
