Yakuza: Like A Dragon’s Interview Reveals New Details And Gameplay Footage

This looks bonkers. I need it.

Yakuza 7

A 14 minute long developer interview has revealed new details about Yakuza: Like A Dragon, including gameplay footage, mini-games, the turn-based RPG combat and much more. Check out the interview for yourself below.

The interview features localisation director Scott Strichart talking about the game’s setting, characters and gameplay. Like A Dragon is a departure from the traditional Yakuza series, a Yakuza 0 and Yakuza 1-6 have mainly focused on regular protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and his adventures in Kamurocho.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon, which for all intents and purposes is Yakuza 7, instead focuses on Kasuga Ichiban and takes place in Yokohama. The turn-based combat is also brand new, with players controlling a team of fighters, each with their own unique abilities and moves. It’s a bold move for an established series, but one that could pay off. We’ll find out more when the game launches in the West for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X at the end of the year.
