Xbox players rejoice, as Yakuza Kiwami 2 is finally available to download via Xbox Game Pass, meaning you can devote all that precious energy towards begging for the rest of the series to make the jump from PS4 too. I’ve already started, don’t worry. Check out the trailer below (though beware of some spoilers).
Placing players once again in the shoes of Kazuma Kiryu, you return to Kamurocho to find the Tojo Clan embroiled in yet more drama. Seriously, the Tojo Clan wouldn’t know its arse from its elbow if it wasn’t for Kiryu coming in to town every now and again to sort things out. This time around, the Clan are feuding with the Omi Alliance, placing Kiryu in the crosshairs of Omi’s legendary Dragon of Kansai, Ryuji Goda.
The combat and gameplay utilises the Dragon Engine from Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, meaning that the series looks better than ever, while the combat is even more insane thanks to the improved physics the game offers. Combine that with a host of minigames, including some returning favourites like Yakuza 0’s Cabaret Club, and Kiwami 2 could just be the best the series has to offer.
