Xbox Lockhart Documentation Has Resurfaced Online

It's happening, but when?

It’s been rumoured for a long time that Microsoft have been working on a cheaper, less-powerful next-gen console codenamed Xbox Lockhart, and now some more official documentation has emerged online to suggest its existence. The reference was found by Twitter user TitleOS, and you can check it out below.

The reference is from the June 2020 Gamecore Development Kit from Microsoft, which covers all of the current Xbox products, and Lockhart is specifically mentioned as part of the Xbox Series X family. A few weeks ago, that same user was responsible for finding references to Lockhart inside the console’s OS.

These mentions don’t tell us about Lockhart’s specs or what Microsoft would be hoping to achieve with this console, but these references proof that the console is in development. With Xbox planning a huge July event dedicated to next-gen, it’s possible we’ll see an official reveal of this second console there.
