Fans of ECW or early to mid-2000s WWE will no doubt be fans of Rob Van Dam, otherwise known as The Whole F’n Show. One of the most athletic wrestlers ever, RVD and John Cena’s paths crossed in 2006 at ECW One Night Stand for the WWE Championship, a moment that’s been recreated in WWE 2K23’s Showcase mode. While reliving an iconic match is exciting in itself, there’s also some additional unlocks that might be exciting for a lot of players, and you can even unlock Rob Van Dam himself in WWE 2K23.
In order to unlock Rob Van Dam, you need to complete all the objectives of WWE 2K23’s Showcase mode first match, which recreates RVD vs John Cena at ECW One Night Stand in June 2006. The objectives require players to perform certain moves and grapples on John Cena, following along with the instructions that appear on screen.
Once you’ve completed all the objectives and finished the mission, you’ll unlock Rob Van Dam for use in pretty much all modes, including the Universe mode. RVD has an overall rating of 92, and is a Light Heavyweight High Flyer. Completing the RVD match in Showcase mode will also unlock the ECW One Night Stand 2006 arena, which features the iconic balconies of the Hammerstein Ballroom, making it one of the most unique arenas in the whole game.
Players will be able to unlock Kurt Angle in the WWE 2K23 Showcase mode in the same way as Rob Van Dam, but when it comes to other hidden characters like Bruno Sammartino and Super Cena, things become a bit more complicated.
WWE 2K23 is available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X & S, and Xbox One.
