WWE 2K Battlegrounds: Big Show & Sheamus Confirmed For Roster

A small snippet of things to come.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds has somewhat fallen into the background of gaming news since its official announcement two months back. Over the past week, WWE 2K’s social media have been dropping vague meme-like images preparing fans for further details that we presume will be revealed in due course. Today’s obscure piece of marketing has managed to confirm potentially two superstars that will be included on the game’s base roster, those two superstars being The Big Show and ‘The Celtic Warrior’ Sheamus.

Both wrestlers are shown in amidst a castle feast worthy of the Celtic kings of old. Big Show is prominently featured, playing a tune on the bagpipes, while the character that we assume is Sheamus is sat in the background dressed in a regal battle dress. Now, we can’t confirm whether that definitely is Sheamus, but having a closer look at his character model strongly suggests that it might be the former WWE Champion.

Alongside this minor reveal, we can assume that we might be seeing an array of WWE Superstars and legends involved in some royal duels in front of the Kings and Queens of WWE royalty. The Scottish theme might also imply that a certain ‘Scottish Psychopath’ might find his way into the game, as well as WWE’s other most notable Scotsman, ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper.

It’s good to see a more comical style being adopted for the upcoming game, with previous social media posts suggesting that 2K aren’t really taking themselves as seriously as they usually would, we can hope that the game itself is a fun beat-em-up style frenzy that will do away with the grey cloud of shame hanging over the developers’ heads after the WWE 2K20 debacle.
