Work-In-Progress Plants vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville Trailer Leaks

Full reveal at Gamescom, probably.

Battle For Neighborville

Oh, those darn leaks. The long-rumoured next instalment of the Plants vs Zombies third person shooter spin-off series, previously titled Garden Warfare, has leaked online via an unfinished reveal trailer. It’s called Plants vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville, and there’s placeholder assets, missing animations and more, but at least the song is finished. Anyone else reckon it’s an absolute banger? Either way, check it out below.

The trailer does show some brief gameplay footage towards the end, though the WIP trailer does say this is temporary footage, so the gameplay shown is likely to change or look completely different when the full trailer is revealed, likely during Gamescom as PvZ: Battle for Neighborville is still scheduled to launch this financial year.

As we can see from the trailer, there’s a few character classes like acorns, ninja mushrooms, disco zombies and rocker zombies, and it would appear that all the general classes from Garden Warfare 2 are also playable. Whether the game will still feature the sub-classes, like Peashooter’s Agent Pea or the Zombie Foot Soldier’s Tank Commander is unclear. Given that the Garden Warfare subtitle has been dropped, Battle For Neighborville might be doing things a little differently.

In the meantime, EA are also scheduled to reveal the next Need For Speed game tomorrow, which yours truly argued should go free-to-play. Are you excited for the new Plants vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville? Sound off in the comments.
