We’re slowly but surely make our way towards Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 3 after many delays, most of them outside of Epic’s control. While the new season kicks off on the 17th, we have the ‘The Device’ event to look forward to until then.

Taking place on June 15th, The Device is likely going to dramatically change the Fortnite map with many expecting it to lead to a waterworld. In terms of the storyline, it seems that Midas, the tier 100 skin for the season, wants to bring the war between Shadow and Ghost to an early end by unleashing a device that will submerge everything on the map.

Here’s everything you need to know to take part in The Device during Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 2.

As with all Fortnite events, you will want to start queuing up in the lobby beforehand, otherwise you may struggle to get into the event. Epic recommend that you start queuing half an hour before The Device begins to guarantee entry.

Unfortunately, there are always some technical hiccups with Fortnite events, so you may have to jump to a YouTube or Twitch stream to watch the event that way. It’s almost guaranteed there will be some people who miss out.

Unlike other Fortnite events, Epic have been smart to not add scores to this event. This means that while you may be waiting for the match to begin and eliminate other players, the match will not end if limits are hit.

If you’re looking for the replays of the event, they are usually added one or two days after its conclusion.

Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 2 is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
