Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Delayed Until Next Year

There's been a hold-up at the blood bank.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Developers Hardsuit Labs and publishers Paradox have announced that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be delayed until 2021. This is the second delay the game as received, as it was originally set to launch in 2019 before being pushed back to this year. The news was broken via Twitter in the statement below.

The statement says: “Our goal has always been to deliver the best game possible, to immerse you into a Seattle re-imagined in the World of Darkness, and deliver a worthy successor to the original Bloodlines game. Due to the quality bar and ambitions we have set for ourselves, we have made the difficult decision that we need more time. This means that our goal to release in 2020 is no longer possible. Moving launch is one of the changes we are making to ensure the best player experience possible.”

The statement also mentions that they will share more information in the coming months regarding the game’s launch timing, and that there will be “other organizational changes that will help us achieve this goal”. These changes could be attributed to Bloodlines 2 severing its ties to video game writer and narrative designer Chris Avellone after the host of sexual misconduct allegations against him. Paradox have stated they’d remove all of his contributions from the game, and that he was only involved with the game “briefly”, but it could factor into the game’s delay in some capacity.
