Although the terrible animation of recent seasons in the franchise has left a bitter taste, fans still can’t help but wonder when The Seven Deadly Sins: Season 6 will happen. Surprisingly, it both won’t and will. The remaining chapters of the manga had been adapted as a part of the fifth season, so there’s actually no more source material left.

That may sound devastating, but it actually isn’t since Nakaba Suzuki has created a sequel to The Seven Deadly Sins franchise: Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Netflix just recently released The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1 anime film based on a period directly after the anime ended, and Part 2 is also coming soon. But that’s not all, as while a sixth season of the main series isn’t happening, an anime focused on the sequel is officially in the works.

When Is The Seven Deadly Sins: Season 6 Coming Out?

Unfortunately, the story wrapped up with the fifth season so The Seven Deadly Sins: Season 6 won’t be made. On the bright side, a sequel anime titled The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse is under development and will be released later in 2023.

It’s an amazing feeling getting to see that the franchise will continue. An exact release date for the sequel anime is out yet, but luckily fans can get excited about the Grudge of Edinburgh Part 2 coming in August 2023.

What Is The Seven Deadly Sins: Season 6 About? (Spoiler Alert)

Well, technically, Meliodas’ journey is over because the Demon King is dead, and that’s why The Seven Deadly Sins: Season 6 isn’t in production. Instead, the sequel, Four Knights of the Apocalypse, will pick things up 16 years later. You’ll see the story of a completely new protagonist, Percival, unfold as he searches for the remaining members of the Four Knights of the Apocalypse after it’s prophesied that this group will be responsible for the end of the world.

In his search, Percival will end up meeting the children of The Seven Deadly Sins, but he’ll have to do this while evading the forces of Camelot who are aiming to put a stop to the chaos before it even has a chance to begin.

Which Studio Is Making Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?

The Seven Deadly Sins: Season 6 isn’t happening, so there’s no studio behind it. But the same can’t be said of the confirmed sequel anime, Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as it has been revealed that it’ll be animated by Telecom Animation Film.

This is a massive upgrade because animation quality was single-handedly the downfall of The Seven Deadly Sins. The franchise’s acclaim went from being a highly anticipated and industry-standard anime to a run-of-the-mill show. It was unfortunate but that’s what poor production choices leave you with. Thankfully, things have turned over a new leaf, and now that a studio like Telecom Animation Film which has had stunning works over the years like Tower of God, Baki specials, and Lupin III, is making the sequel, the series may just redeem its rocky past.

Where Will Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Be Aired?

Lately, Netflix has become the sole distributor of every new Sins project that releases. The Grudge of Edinburgh films are also Netflix originals, so judging from that it’s likely that The Seven Deadly Sins: Season 6, or rather the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse anime, too will air only on Netflix. It isn’t official though, so you shouldn’t get worked up right now as it’s possible that Crunchyroll, Funimation, and even Hulu might stream the anime upon release.
