All the Hollywood filmmakers seem to be getting involved with Fortnite.

According to Variety, Anthony and Joe Russo teamed up with Epic Games to direct the cinematic opener for Fortnite‘s latest installment.

Chapter 2: Season 6 – Primal was launched by Epic Games on Tuesday, with the company claiming that this is one of the most story-driven events produced for the game.

The three minute cinematic intro shows Agent Jones descending to the island and then fighting his way through several characters in an attempt to reach a massive glowing orb. Ultimately, he’s met by a cyborg-like character, The Foundation, who agrees to help him on his mission.

Epic’s chief creative officer Donald Mustard mentioned that the Russo brothers worked with their team to write, storyboard and direct not only the opener, but also quite a bit of the character set-up for Chapter 2 Season 6.

In a statement to Variety, The Russo brothers, who are big fans of Fortnite, said: “It’s been fantastic working with the team at Epic. Fortnite holds a unique place in pop culture, and we think Donald Mustard is a visionary storyteller who continues to take us all into unexplored territory.”

This is not the first time the pair have worked with Fortnite, having previously collaborated in a crossover event, bringing Avengers: Infinity War into the Fortnite game space. I think we all remember what happened last year, when Christopher Nolan announced that the trailer for Tenet would make its debut via the drive-in cinema in Fortnite. Who knows what other future collaborations await?

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
