Switch Version Of The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Leaked

Now where's the F-Zero GX port?

Skyward Sword

Over the weekend, an Amazon UK listing emerged suggesting that the Wii title The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch at some point in the future. While the listing has since been pulled, screenshots have been captured and posted on Twitter by the user Wario64.

Nintendo clearly aren’t above remastering old titles for the Nintendo Switch, with the recent announcement of Pikmin 3: Deluxe Edition being proof of that, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Skyward Sword come to the handheld console. Skyward Sword itself was even re-released for the Wii U eShop back in 2016. That said, it’s interesting that we’d hear more about a Skyward Sword Switch port than something like Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess or even the fabled Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. Those would be a license to print money.

The placeholder listing had no set release date, so who knows when it’ll be heading to the Nintendo Switch, but I’m sure most players wouldn’t be keen on paying £70 for the privilege. Still, between Breath of the Wild, Cadence of Hyrule, the Link’s Awakening remake and the NES/SNES emulators, the Switch is becoming the best console to play Zelda games. Why not add to that library?
