Subnautica Releases On PS4 Today

One of the most revered survival games on PC makes it way to the PlayStation 4 today.

Subnautica

If you’ve been waiting for the best underwater survival sim to make its way to Sony’s black box, today’s (December 4th) the day with the release of Subnautica for PS4.

Subnautica will also “graduate” from the Xbox Game Preview program today, the platform’s version of Early Access. For reference, PUBG also started off in Game Preview for Xbox One.

European players will also be able to buy physical disc versions of the game from December 7th.

Developed and published by Unknown Worlds Entertainment with console port duties being shared by the dependable Panic Button, Subnautica sees you trying to survive and find rescue on an alien world dominated by water. It’s one that continues to deepen the further into it you go (don’t forget those Bladderfish), but also has many different ways to experience it if you so wish — there’s a casual mode that removes most of the threat.

The release of Subnautica should further the range of great survival games on console following the successes of The Long Dark, The Forest, and Don’t Starve.

Subnautica currently has Overwhelmingly Positive recent reviews on Steam and Very Positive reviews overall. The console version of Subnautica is being published by Gearbox Publishing. Just starting out? Check out our Subnautica tips.
