It’s no secret that Street Fighter 6 is one of the most highly anticipated games of 2023, so naturally many players are chomping at the bit to play the game before it launches next year. Thankfully, Capcom have given players the opportunity to do just that, as they’ve announced a closed beta test for Street Fighter 6. Here’s everything you need to know about the closed beta test.

Street Fighter 6: When Is The Closed Beta Test?

The closed beta test for Street Fighter 6 will take place from Friday, October 7th at 7am UTC, all the way until Monday, October 10th at the same time. Capcom note on the official closed beta test announcement page that they might pull the test down for maintenance during that time, but any action will be communicated through the official channels.

Street Fighter 6: Where Can I Play The Closed Beta Test?

The closed beta test will be available for users on PC via Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X & S. While the final game is targeted for release on PS4 as well, the closed beta test will not be available to those users.

Street Fighter 6: How Do I Sign-Up For The Closed Beta Test?

In order to be eligible for the closed beta test, you’ll need to apply on the Capcom website, but there are a few caveats you’ll need to know about. Applicants can only be 18+, and need to sign up for a Capcom ID via the Capcom site. On top of that, you’ll need to link that Capcom account to the platform account you’ll want to play Street Fighter 6 on, whether it’s your Steam profile or PSN/Xbox Live account.

There’s also a deadline or signing, with applications available from now until Friday, September 30th at 2:59pm UTC, though Capcom also note that they may stop applications if they receive enough before the deadline. Those who are lucky enough to be selected will find out after October 5th.

Street Fighter 6: What Does The Closed Beta Test Include?

As betas go, Street Fighter 6’s is pretty stacked. The beta will include 8 playable characters (Luke, Jamie, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Kimberly, Juri, Ken) and six playable stages across a range of modes and battle types. These include Ranked match, Casual match, Battle Hub match (the open lobby where you can interact with other players), Open Tournament, Extreme Battle (SF 6 but with wacky gimmicks), Training Mode and Battle Tutorials.

On top of all of that, you’ll even be able to create your Battle Hub avatar, earning coins throughout the beta to spend in the shop on your avatar. Unfortunately, you’ll only be able to make one and you can’t carry them over to the final game, but it’s still pretty cool to see this many features in the beta.
