Sony Launching PlayStation Classic This December

PlayStation Classic

Taking a leaf out of Nintendo’s playbook, Sony have announced that they will be launching a classic version of the PlayStation console, appropriately titled the PlayStation Classic. It’ll include 20 of the PS1’s greatest hits, and will cost a measly $99.99 when it launches on December 3rd 2018. It should work out to about £90 over here, but that’s to be determined.

The package itself will include a miniaturised version of the original console, complete with working power, reset and disc tray buttons (the disc button will allow you to switch games), along with 2 controllers and 20 games, five of which have been announced. These include Final Fantasy VII, Tekken 3, Wild Arms, Ridge Racer Type 4 and Jumping Flash.

Unfortunately, the console also requires a compatible USB AC adapter in order to function, so make sure you have one of those on hand before you make your purchase. Will you be picking up a PlayStation Classic? Check out the announcement trailer and be sure to sound off in the comments below.
