SmackDown To Broadcast From WWE Performance Center

Not sure a 'Mania crowd would fit into the PC though.

In an unprecedented turn of events, this week’s episode of SmackDown Live has been moved from its original venue in Detroit to the WWE Performance Centre, amidst growing countermeasures against the Coronavirus. With plans for WrestleMania 36 still up in the air, this could be the start of more events being postponed or altered for WWE.

SmackDown Live will still be going ahead as planned, with appearances from the likes of Goldberg and John Cena scheduled to take place on the show. This will be quite the spectacle to air live from the PC, which also hosted this week’s stacked episode of NXT.

WWE have yet to release an official statement, but they have commented on the matter with the following:

“WWE has not cancelled Friday Night SmackDown in Detroit, however, based on the current situation, we are putting contingency plans in place in the event that upcoming WWE shows are cancelled by government officials, civil authorities and/or local venues.”

As far as Monday’s taping of RAW goes, I highly suspect we’ll see a similar plan of action, with the week’s content all being taped at the PC. Who knows what lies in store for WrestleMania this year.
