April 2021 in Rust brings an absolute fool’s gold amount of content to the game. While I might be misunderstanding what fool’s gold actually is (it’s an extravagant amount of money spent frivolously, right?), the 1st of April brings with it some significant changes to everyone’s favourite misery simulator.
Here’s everything you need to know about what’s going down this month in Rust, including the long-awaited introduction of gestures/emotes, poker, and some quality of life changes.
Rust Gestures

After being an unofficial part of the game for years, gestures (which people will just end up calling emotes) are now finally in Rust, and they’re free for everyone.
Designed for first-person, players will be able to use gestures from a pop-up menu. To tie in with the marvellous cynicism of Rust, you can wave at someone while shooting them as gestures have all been designed to be used with your left hand. There’s a 0.2 second delay from gesturing and shooting, but this is not going to be enough to stop you from ruining someone’s day/week/wipe.
Rust Poker Tables

Poker Tables finally come to Rust this month, and they can be found in Bandit Town along with all of the other gambling bits and bobs.
You will just be able to play standard Texas Hold Em for the time being with up to six players. You’ll need to deposit 100 Scrap to take part in a round, which you can then desperately ask for back from other players in a special poker chat window when you inevitably lose it.
Oh well, at least there are plenty of easy ways of getting Scrap back in Rust.
Rust 2021 Easter Event

Rust will also be celebrating Easter and while it might not be as fun as Halloween and Christmas (Easter is a lower tier holiday, let’s be real here), players can still have hatch some hijinks.
Once an in-game day for the next seven days, players will be able to run out of their bases and collect eggs within a three-minute time limit. The three eggiest players will be given special eggs for their hunting skills, which have some very lucrative loot inside, including the M249.
Even if you don’t win the hunt, you can still collect ten eggs for a silver egg, then a gold egg, giving you the chance for some elite loot.

If you like Twitch, Rust, and a combination of the two, you can get some Twitch drops from now until April 8th for watching Dairygold, Tesla, xguiry, suspect, NoraExplorer, Picco, PyrooTV , etoleto and 6zdenko.
