Radical Heights: Lawbreakers Devs Reveal New Free-To-Play Battle Royale Game

Radical Heights game

After Lawbreakers, the hero shooter with an identity crisis, struggled so dramatically to make any kind of impact, it was a big question as to where Boss Key Productions would go next. The answer? Straight onto the battle royale trend with Radical Heights.

Here’s the official description for the game on Steam, which launches into Early Access for free tomorrow:

“Partake in high-stakes gunplay as you loot for weapons, gadgets, cosmetics, and CASH! Survive to the end or risk it all in this irreverent action game show where everyone wants to be rich and famous!”

And here’s the trailer, which has so far not been well-received on YouTube at all:

It’s worth noting that Radical Heights is in a very early state of Early Access, seemingly to strike while the iron is still hot. The core gameplay is present, but everything else will be very rough around the edges. If PUBG could get away with being so unpolished at launch, why can’t Radical Heights?

While it’s good that Boss Key are picking themselves up again so quickly after such bitter disappointment, it’s a bit alarming how sudden this new game is. By all accounts, it really does appear somewhat cynical from Boss Key to have dumped Lawbreakers so soon and already be on the next thing. There’s also a little bit of irony here: the publisher of Lawbreakers, Nexon, once blamed PUBG for the game’s failure.

“Lawbreakers is certainly fun while it lasts; it’s nigh on impossible to not get engrossed in the mayhem for at least its first ten hours. Just like cake, though, you probably couldn’t indulge yourself with it everyday – there just isn’t enough of substance to keep you coming back for dessert when there are other, more enticing things on offer.”
