Chart Track have published the UK Games Sales chart from last week, and as you might expect, God of War sits proudly atop the chart. Looks like Kratos has retaken his throne.
Based on physical sales alone, God of War has had the second biggest launch in the UK so far, sitting just behind Far Cry 5 which was also the second best seller of the last week. The new God of War also holds the title of the best week one sales of any game in the series, an honour previously held by God of War 3.
Kratos’ latest adventure has earned plenty of critical success from publications around the world, and even we’re not ashamed to admit we fell in love with the game, so it’s good to see that it’s already translated to some incredible commercial success. Check out what head honcho Jimmy had to say in his 10/10 review:
“It’s not the God of War you once knew, but Kratos’ debut on PS4 brings the franchise back into the limelight in a big way as one of the best games of its generation.”
Elsewhere in the chart, fellow PS4 exclusive Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, debuted at number three, which also made it the strongest week one sales for that franchise.
