In a surprise “announcement” over the weekend, Xbox have revealed May’s line-up for the Games With Gold program. We put the word announcement in quotes, because the video on the Xbox YouTube channel that you can check out below is, at the time of writing, unlisted, suggesting that it was published ahead of time. Somebody probably got a slap on the wrist for that one.
From May 1st, Xbox Live Gold members will be able to play Super Mega Baseball 2 and SEGA Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage, then from May 16th, you’ll be able to play the brilliant Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and the equally brilliant Vanquish. As always, it’s an eclectic mix of games, which should ensure there’s something for everyone.
Of course, you’ve still got just over a week to download the current Games With Gold titles, which currently include Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, The Witness and Dead Space 2. All in all, these games just might be enough to distract you from the recent releases of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and God of War. Maybe.
