Just like changing the names of your Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a much, much easier process than in many of the games that came before it, the game also allows you to remember moves for your Pokémon with just a few simple button presses.
Learning moves is a major part of your Pokémon levelling up, as it helps them to become more of an asset in battle and use different types of attacks and general moves. However, you only have four slots for moves in total, so you may have to decline learning some moves as your Pokémon levels up. Luckily, there’s a way to remember them.
To remember moves in Scarlet and Violet, press X to bring up your menu, then select the relevant Pokémon and press A before choosing Check Summary. Then, go right on the screen until you land on the Moves and Stats screen and press A to change moves. Here, you can opt to remember moves, forget a move, and also use a TM to learn a brand new move. You can also press Y to rearrange your moves if you so wish. You can remember, forget, and rearrange your moves as many times as you want without any restrictions.
If you’re still trying to get to grips with Scarlet and Violet, read up on how you can wash your pocket monsters, then figure out how you can get your hands on an Everstone.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available now on Switch.
