Play As Quiet in Metal Gear Solid V’s FOB Missions

Metal Gear Solid V Quiet

It’s been a whole year since Metal Gear Solid V received any major updates, so when a new update was shipped to players on PS4, Xbox One and PC (not on PS3 or Xbox 360, though) it was quite the surprise.

Unlike some fans were hoping, it’s nothing to do with the infamous third chapter. In fact, all the contents of the update focus on the online part of the game, the FOB missions.

The biggest addition is letting you play as Quiet in these missions. You can’t change her uniform, but you do get to keep her abilities, such as having a very fast movement speed, becoming invisible if you stay still for a certain amount of time, and being able to jump higher distances that would usually need a ladder.

The other big addition is an entire new difficulty level for Event FOBs. Event FOBs are a special type of FOB mission where you’re not invading a specific player, meaning that no one will come to ransack your base when you’re done, and it gives you more freedom in what you want to do. The events with the new difficulty level will be marked “Event FOB [HARD]” so if you want to get even more event points, go have a look at those.

Other additions in the update are two new versions of the Renov-Ickx bis Sniper Rifle, two different Dark Matter Generators, and an Energy Wall.

With Metal Gear Survive being released to overwhelming adversity, Konami throwing hissy fits against anyone who joined Kojima’s studio and Jordan Vogt-Roberts working on a Metal Gear Solid movie, it’s definitely going to be interesting to see where the franchise goes from here.
