Pete Hines Says Sony Are Why We Have No Fallout 4 PS4 Mods Yet

I haven’t played Fallout 4 for quite some time, largely down to how I have pretty much seen and done everything there is to do. As any PC gamer knows, the best way to extend the lifespan of a game is to grow a vibrant mod community for it. Hell, Skyrim recently had a mod that might have well been its own game.

Fallout 4 has had more than its fair share of mods on PC and Xbox One, but nothing so far for PS4; not even a glimmer. The lack of acknowledgement from Bethesda has announced some players, including one guy who took his grievance directly to Pete Hines.

According to the tweet, Sony have been holding it up as they have yet to evaluate the application of mods for the game, which is crazy. The PC has had official support since April and Xbox One since May, so months and months later without an answer for PS4 players isn’t very good at all.

Sony might be hesitant to allow mods for various reasons, including hampering the stability of the game, but it’s more likely due to just how complex it is. Xbox Ones aren’t a thousand miles away from your average PC in terms of what’s under the hood and the system they work with, but PS4 is something different altogether.

Here’s hoping they can get it sorted soon. The last Fallout 4 DLC, Nuka-World, will be coming out on the 30th of August and we will be covering it; check back then for the rundown on whether the Season Pass goes out with a bang or a whimper.
