Pentagon Jr. has been forced into singles competition after his tag partner and brother Rey Fenix has been sidelined with an injury. Although fans aren’t concerned for his future, unlike other tag wrestlers who could be forced into the singles division, as a slight gimmick change for Pentagon is seemingly on the horizon.

AEW referenced an old character from Penta’s past as part of this week’s historic Dynamite. Penta Oscura, or Pentagon Dark to those Lucha Underground fans out there, has been unearthed and is set to rise as part of the AEW roster. This reveal came as part of a dark and creepy vignette which showed Penta retrieving his old, black mask from a gravesite, with his manager, Alex Abrahantes, explaining that after Malakai Black spit the mist into Penta’s soul, this awakened a darker side of him.

So it seems that Penta Oscura will be revived as part of the ongoing feud between The House of Black and The Death Triangle, with things about to take a turn for the deadly. Pentagon Dark has previously been known to break bones and leave opponents bloodied during his LU days, so who knows what carnage he will bring to AEW Dynamite in the next few weeks.
