Nightwolf, Sindel & Spawn Coming To Mortal Kombat 11, New Shang Tsung Trailer

Also, Shang Tsung is arriving in a couple of weeks.

Mortal Kombat 11

NetherRealm Studios have announced the next three characters that’ll join Shang Tsung as part of Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pass, and they are Nightwolf, Sindel & guest character Spawn, with the announcement of two more guest characters in the future. All three characters have already been leaked as part of a previous datamine, and we’ll get round to that in a bit.

Meanwhile, the announcement trailer that dropped just before the weekend revealed gameplay for Shang Tsung, who is fully channeling his 1995 movie look here. He’s even saying the “your soul is mine” line, which is just ultimate fan service. Check it out below.

From a gameplay perspective, Shang Tsung retains the core tenants of his moveset here, namely his pryomancy and ability to shape-shift. While he can still throw out fireballs like the best of them, Shang Tsung’s shape-shifting has been modified to include moves from MK’s various colour ninjas, with Rain’s weird kick that sends people across the other side of the screen, Ermac’s telepathic slam and Smoke’s counter attack, to name but a few.

Shang Tsung will be available to Kombat Pass owners as an early access deal on June 18th, alongside a Klassic skins pack that adds retro style skins for Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot. Sindel, Nightwolf and Spawn will be added later in the year. With regards to the datamine, characters like Ash from The Evil Dead and The Terminator were also leaked, and the trailer ends with the revving of a chainsaw, and some Terminator-esque music. While the music choice is a bit of a reach, Ash’s actor Bruce Campbell has been teasing fans on Twitter.
