Need For Speed Heat To Become First EA Cross-Play Game

Also, it's the game's final update.

Need For Speed Heat

EA have announced that Need For Speed Heat, last year’s decent return to form for the iconic series, will be adding crossplay support as part of the game’s final update, making it the first EA game to support full cross-play. The cross-play update will launch tomorrow, June 9th, alongside a host of bug fixes, and will allow PC, PS4 and Xbox One players to race together.

The news comes from a blog post by Criterion’s Matt Webster, who’ll be taking the reins of the Need For Speed series going forward, and that work is already underway regarding the next entry in the series:

“Since the launch of Need for Speed Heat and as players continue to tear it up in Palm City, we’re listening to what you love about this experience, and what you all believe could be even better. With these insights, we have a terrific foundation to create the most expressive, most socially connected, action-packed game yet for Need for Speed fans and beyond.”

It’s also been revealed that Need For Speed Heat will be added to the EA Access and Origin Access Basic Vault on June 16th, allowing more players to spend time in Palm City. Will you be playing cross-play in Need For Speed Heat? Sound off in the comments.
