The smash hit anime Mushoku Tensei redefined what being an isekai meant. Characters written so well on multiple layers, and an incredibly made story that didn’t just follow the money trail left behind by other fantasy series in recent times is what truly made the anime appeal to pretty much everyone. That’s also why the anime already has two parts aired within the span of a year, and now with the first season officially finished, what’s the latest on Mushoku Tensei: Season 2?

Fortunately, Crunchyroll has confirmed that Mushoku Tensei: Season 2 is in the works, and to top that off, the anime is headed your way much sooner than expected. Due to its soaring popularity, it was only a matter of time before the anime returned, so with a second season officially under development, here’s a look at everything you need to know about it.

When Is Mushoku Tensei: Season 2 Coming Out?

UPDATE: Mushoku Tensei: Season 2 has been confirmed for a July 2023 release. The exact air date is yet to be revealed but for now, fans can enjoy the stellar main trailer.

ORIGINAL STORY: Surprisingly, the official Twitter handle of the anime has revealed that Mushoku Tensei: Season 2 will be released sometime in early 2023. This is absolutely amazing considering the last time we saw the series was back in March 2022.

Like the first season, we again suspect that the sequel will air in two parts with both totaling about 23-24 episodes combined. For now, the exact release date still remains a secret, but it’s only a matter of time till that’s revealed, so in the meanwhile, here’s a look at the debut trailer.

What Is Mushoku Tensei: Season 2 About? (Spoiler Alert)

Last we saw, Eris had left Rudeus to venture on her own in hopes of becoming strong, and the same was the case with Ruijerd who left in search to find other members of his Race. The OVA that was released in March 2022 showed specifically what Eris was doing to get stronger while in the Holy Land of the Sword.

As for what’ll happen to Rudeus in Mushoku Tensei: Season 2, well, he’ll head to the city of Rosenburg to find his mother Zenith. Completely alone now, Rudeus also takes on an A-rank mission to spread his fame, although that’s a risk that may have repercussions he doesn’t realize.

Which Studio Is Making Mushoku Tensei: Season 2?

It isn’t difficult to appreciate that the first season’s spectacular visuals made the story as engaging as it was. Luckily, Studio Bind is all set to take the reins once again in Mushoku Tensei: Season 2, promising another win for the isekai fandom.

Yes, Mushoku Tensei’s plot is a banger with how it tailors Rudeus’ journey from birth to becoming a mage prodigy, but let’s be honest, without the rad animation, the series wouldn’t have popped off as much as it did, similar to how Demon Slayer made it into mainstream.

Where Will Mushoku Tensei: Season 2 Be Aired?

Mushoku Tensei: Season 1 streamed exclusively on Crunchyroll outside Japan as the company holds the license. Rationally, the second season will also stream there, so if you’re not a Japanese local and don’t have the option to catch the broadcast live, then Crunchyroll seems to be the way to go.

2023 looks like a bright year to be an anime fan as many anticipated anime such as Vinland Saga: Season 2, and Mushoku Tensei: Season 2 are making a comeback, and with that, it’ll be only a while longer till you can dive back into wonderful new sagas in both of these stellar adventures among countless other.
