The Bedrock Edition will be available to all Minecraft: PS4 Edition players as a free update, bringing with it all the latest updates and additions along with the Minecraft Marketplace, giving PS4 players the chance to purchase a lot more Minecraft content. Furthermore, purchases and progress will carry over across platforms, which is handy if you feel like playing on the go.

The one small caveat is that cross-play will require players to create a free Microsoft account in order to access those features, but that’s a very small price to pay in order to play one of the most influential video games of the past decade with millions of other players around the world.
