Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the biggest superhero games of 2021 and a game that is likely to take many by surprise. Developed by Eidos-Montréal, GOTG is a space-faring adventure that will take you to many different planets and locations, but is it open world?
No, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is not an open world game. It’s a linear adventure with different chapters in a similar vein to something like Uncharted.
While you are able to explore plenty of environments within these chapters for hidden collectibles and the like, you are only able to go in select places and not freely explore.
Don’t let the fact that it isn’t exactly like Marvel’s Spider-Man put you off, though. GOTG tells a lovely, affecting story and is much more than just a point A to point B game. You are able to customise your guardians, unlock new abilities, and listen to music on a jukebox. That’s neat.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
