Fortnite is becoming more and more meshed with the real world as time goes on, it bringing in loads of licensed emotes and music over the course of Chapter 2. One of the most surprising today seems to be a collaboration with Liverpool FC in the form of an emote.

Anyone who watches the Premier League will be familiar with this emote. For one, it looks like Epic have licensed “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, which is Liverpool’s anthem and belted out before every home game. Well, in normal times it is, of course.
The second obvious similarity is the way the character raises the cup. It’s very similar to how Jordan Henderson, Liverpool captain, raises cups on podiums. It basically looks like a little seagull tapping their feet before then lifting the trophy aloft. It’s unmistakable for Liverpool fans, who have seen this a lot over the last couple of years.

This isn’t the first time Fortnite has crossed over with sports, it even collaborated with the NFL to bring in skins for each team in the league. It’s not unrealistic to expect Fortnite to get Premier League skins at some point down the line, especially with how popular the “soccer skins” are, but the sponsorships on shirts may be the biggest issue.
As a suffering (so suffering) Everton fan, I am obviously not going to be picking up the Raise the Cup emote whenever it does eventually land in Fortnite. For now, I will hold out hope for some Everton emotes, which will probably be Gylfi Sigurddsson pointing at nothing, Sidibe forgetting his socks, and Walcott running and then falling over.
