Larian Studios Announce Divinity: Fallen Heroes Has Been Put “On Hold”

Larian to focus on the release of Baldur's Gate 3.

Development of Divinity: Fallen Heroes, a spin-off in the wildly popular isometric role-playing franchise, has been placed on indefinite hold as of today, Larian Studios announced on their forum page.

Part of a co-production between development studios Larian and Logic Artists, Divinity: Fallen Heroes was set to be a cooperative tactics entry in the beloved series that would shift the focus to more combat and less story – a stark contrast to the exposition-heavy content of the previous games.

In an official announcement made early this morning, Larian did not give any reason to believe that the game was set for cancellation, but there is no indication as to when development on the project may resume.

Larian will maintain focus on their attention on the upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3, which is scheduled to launch on Google Stadia, while Logic Artists will continue their hard work on their Expeditions series. Were you excited for the release of Divinity: Fallen Heroes? Sound off in the comments below.
