Hitman 3 – Cloud Version Launching On Nintendo Switch Next Year

Assassinate the cloud.

Hitman 3

During today’s Nintendo Direct Mini presentation, IO Interactive announced that Hitman 3 – Cloud Version would be available on the Nintendo Switch next year, though it would appear that it won’t launch on the same day as other platforms. Check out the trailer at the top of the page.

A Cloud Version?

Yes, it would appear that Nintendo are ramping up their efforts to bring cloud gaming options to the Nintendo Switch. It’s a service that’s been available in Japan for a while, allowing users to play Resident Evil 7, but now they’re implementing it worldwide. Control: Ultimate Edition has also been announced for the Nintendo Switch as a cloud game, and it even introduces raytracing to the handheld platform.

What About Hitman 1 & 2?

That’s an interesting question. Hitman 3 is the conclusion of the World of Assassination trilogy, meaning Nintendo Switch players could be introduced to the series two thirds of the way through the story. However, Hitman 3 will also be compatible with the maps from Hitman 1 & 2, so perhaps we’ll see some kind of Ultimate Edition that includes every possible level.
